When La Salles High School sought a long-term flooring solution for a heavily used lobby area, the existing floor had reached the end of its useful life. The Challenge
The existing lobby flooring at La Salle High School had become visibly worn, outdated, and no longer appropriate for a high-traffic, high-visibility entrance. As a central gathering and arrival space, the floor needed to make a strong first impression while also delivering long-term durability suitable for an educational environment. Demolition & Substrate Preparation
The project began with full demolition of the existing flooring system. Once removed, the concrete substrate was carefully evaluated and leveled to ensure a smooth, uniform surface capable of supporting a precision terrazzo installation.
Crack Isolation & System Preparation
A flexible crack-bridging membrane was installed to accommodate potential slab movement and protect the terrazzo system from reflective cracking—an essential step in achieving long-term performance and visual integrity.
Epoxy Terrazzo Installation with Inlaid Logo
Approximately 1,000 square feet of epoxy terrazzo flooring was installed, including a custom inlaid school logo. The installation required meticulous craftsmanship, precise layout, and attention to detail to ensure crisp lines, consistent aggregate distribution, and a flawless finished surface worthy of a signature lobby space.
